| What
We Do |
- Care &
Share asks community school coordinators in Saskatoon’s
public and separate school systems to make up “wish lists”
of goods, services and programs.
- Our board
looks at the “wish lists” and decides which requested
items or programs we can best provide. We then provide the requested
goods, services or programs to the schools at no cost. Refer
to Our Programs for a description of each program.
- Each year,
we distribute $10,000 of books to the community schools through
Scholastic Book Fairs, Saskatoon. www.scholastic.ca/bookfairs
- We initiate
and strongly encourage long-term partnerships between the business
community and each community school.
- We partner
with various organizations in Saskatoon to facilitate our programs
and services.
- To ensure
that we do not become intrusive, Care & Share only assists
schools at the direct request of the principal or community
school coordinator.

| Our
Background |
- Care &
Share Saskatoon Inc. was started in 1997 by Ted Merriman who
believed there was a need to help the less fortunate children
in Saskatoon. Mr. Merriman and President of the B’Nai
Brith, Sid Katzman, along with friends and associates, arrived
at St. Michael School with a few turkeys and all the fixings,
serving up a great meal. This marked the start of the Holiday
Lunch Program and the birth of Care & Share Saskatoon Inc.
